π π We are World Champions!!!! π π
What a weekend! After two great qualifying sessions, we ended up having a big struggle through the rest of the qualifiers, where we had the fastest car but were not able to run for five minutes without a traction roll. We tried everything possible to fix it, but the track conditions were incredibly hard, pushing us into uncertainty and making us lose our way a bit.
This morning, we woke up fully motivated and with the feeling that things would be different. The first practice in the morning was again a disaster, and the last qualifier was not what we wanted, with me saving the car from a traction roll a few times. I was still able to finish second after the qualifiers, which gave us hope for the win.
We were frustrated because we knew our car was the fastest, but we just couldnβt keep it on its wheels, so for the first final, we decided to make drastic changes, doing things that were βout of the boxβ for us. In the first final, I finally felt my car working great again, and all the confidence came back. My car was fast and stable, but unfortunately, I touched Michal in the middle of the race, which cost us a lot (to Michal and me). For the second final, we moved further in that same setup direction, which made our car even better, and I decided to play it safe behind Michal to ensure we both stayed secure, so we could have good points heading into the A3.
The A3 was a βphenomenalβ final. I had a great start, and as I was fully confident with my car, I just tried to put very high pressure on Michal, which resulted in a mistake on his part, which I benefited from. From there on, it was just minutes of nervous waiting until the end of the final. I ended up having the fastest final time and my team mate Alexander Hagberg managed to finish with a strong second in this great final πͺπͺ
It was another great race full of emotions, which is what racing is all about πͺπͺ
I would like to congratulate the entire organisation for the great work, and IFMAR for their commitment to making positive great approach and dedication.
Big congrats to Simon Lauter - RC Β for his well deserved World tittle in the stock class!
I would also like to give a big thanks to everyone for their support, both inside and outside the track, and to all my sponsors for making this possible by providing me with the performance needed to achieve these amazing results. Big thanks to Martin Hudy for his hard work and dedication we believed until the end that it was possible πͺπͺπͺπͺ
