Race report RCBash Sweden LSOR Cup #3 in Sandhem

After a streak of wins since 2017 at the classic Sandhem track we finally had to retreat and take third place due to electrical glitches with the killswitch. In Sweden kill switch is mandatory for security reasons (good reasons!). This was a problem I had earlier during the day which led me to loose many valuable points, but we thought we fixed a break in a cable but apparently that was not the real problem. I than thought my way back up to the A-semifinal which I won comfortably. The car felt great, my driving was on point.

Started in fourth position in the final and advanced in the field until I had the electrical problem coming back which just killed the car right in the track. I ran down to the car, pulled some cables to hopefully get it to come back. I managed to start it up again but had then lost 2 laps. I then started the hunt to climb the field in the 20 minute final to just do damage control for the points. I never thought I would be able to reach the podium but when it was just 30 seconds left I passed the car in third spot and could drive home a podium finish. A victory in itself as the car worked great, my driving was really solid, I was driving 0.5 seconds faster than anyone else out there.

This could have been another win but it still felt quite good even if it was a setback. We’re still in the lead in the total cup standings but lost some important points and still no win this season.

Next race is in a month and we hopefully have the Ultron ready by then but that will be a major risk without testing it thoroughly. But we like pushing the envelope and hopefully we can come back in full force to take a win with the Ultron. That would be an awesome start for the new era!
