The World Championship is over – and my feelings are mixed
First of all, huge credit to the club – they did an absolutely amazing job and created an incredible event.
I’d like to start by apologizing to everyone for our result in the 2WD race. Many people probably think the car wasn’t good enough, but the real issue was somewhere completely different. The whole team did a lot of testing before the race – most of our drivers had the chance to practice on this track, and the local team also tested a lot. We had great results from testing, but as always, the World Championship is a whole different story.
We relied too much on the test data and stayed within what we knew worked. When we were almost out of ideas and had tried everything, it became clear that the problem was elsewhere. We decided to throw away all the test data and go with a completely different setup – something that had never worked here before. Suddenly, the pace was back. David almost TQ’d in Q5 and completely dominated his final, showing the speed to fight for the top 5 and higher. Unfortunately, the final results didn’t reflect our true potential, and for that, I sincerely apologize.
In 4WD, however, we learned from our mistakes and got things right from the start. We had strong pace, and our guys were able to fight for the top positions. In the end, we had three cars in the A final – Dakota 3rd, David 5th, and Chase 10th.
I’m incredibly proud of the whole team for never giving up and fighting until the very end. Massive thanks to everyone for the hard work, dedication, and spirit throughout the week.
Now I’m already at the airport – managed to rebook my flight home so I can get back to work soon and keep pushing harder than ever. 💪✈️
