Well that was a big week!

Well that was a big week! Still catching up on sleep and trying to get back to work after five days at Round Three of the Asian Buggy Championships.  Hit the page for all the stories, photos, video content and daily analysis from the event.

For me, a few final thoughts of a more personal nature.

Huge thanks and congrats to PHDR. Great club, brilliant facility, amazing canteen team both from the club and from visiting racer families pitching in, amazing surface that stood up to everything. Kudos.

Thanks heaps to every racer that I hassled and harrassed for information and insight and photos over the week. Your willingness to share what was going on for you helped us tell better stories about the race. I don't take that willingness to speak either on or off the record for granted. Thank you.

We saw some pretty special things on track this week, and it will be fascinating to see how they shape up in the next year or two. You get the feeling that Caleb Noble has well and truly arrived - and the battle between he and Alex Bernadzik is going to be epic over the next couple of seasons. I hope both get to keep building international experience as well as going head-to-head in Australia.

Christian Wolhuter continued on what has been a phenomenal year - maybe a big win for him is only a matter of time. South Aussie Jayden Edmunds drove probably the best I've seen him go, despite having absolutely no luck in finals. Maybe a break-out race for him too.

I love the Kiwi guys that bring so much to the ABC series - and I reckon with every passing race the experience and speed is building. I can't help wondering if 2025 might be the year we see a breakthrough Kiwi win in the ABC series in one of the buggy classes.

Paul Ciccarello was deeply impressive. There are some pretty talented and experienced 45+ guys in Australia, and Paul handled them all. It was as big a domination as I've seen for a while. Kudos. Walker Spinrad and Ryan Pavidis brought a lot to the race as well - brilliant to have them here. Rarely have I seen a happier guy than Walker after the EP Buggy A1 that he won from McBride.

And then there are the uber-talented young guns. Zac Foster we all know about. Dylan Toia starred in Round 1 in NZ. Phoenix Eggleton has been emerging so fast over the last 18 months. And this week a new name for those outside south-east Queensland - Tejay Craperi. An EP Buggy A final appearance, and missing the Nitro Buggy A final by just one spot promises so much. I spoke to TJ on Sunday and was struck by his determination and ambition to keep learning and growing after this experience. Yet another young talent to watch in 2025. Oh, and Jared Cooke who won the Junior Final? And Yansen, on kind-of home turf for Round 4? They just keep coming!

The ABC series seems to me to be going from strength to strength. That's thanks to the host clubs, the organising team and the racers, pit crew and families. It's the whole community that makes events like these good. We've had three amazing races this year, I'm sure Jakarta/West Side will be awesome too, and 2025 already has me excited.

In terms of the team I'm part of, it is such a privilege to work with Scotty, Tony and Matt from RC Race Media and this week especially Tate Firth RC. Tate was brilliant on the camera and processing photos super-fast as we tried to capture and share the story in as close to real-time as we could. I love working with these guys - they are the absolute best in the business. Talented, generous and (most importantly) excellent people. It was fun for us to do some different things too as we keep evolving our coverage.

Finally, huge thanks also to everybody who shared, reposted, liked or commented on the content our team produced, and who told your own stories in lots of different ways. I so love the story of RC - the big, the small, the short term and the long term.
