Southern Indoor Championship 2024
First big 1/8th race done and dusted at the Southern Indoor Championships. It was again a very tough track and surface once it got dusty and rougher. Decent grip in line coupled with no grip dust outside line and some nice holes in the line provided the challenge. It was great working with another fast guy and between Phi’s dad and I we really figured out the pace come main day with some key setup changes. I had middling results of 6th in nitro buggy, 7th in Ebuggy, and 8th in nitro truggy. But I was in the hunt and had a great time and for sure learned some stuff to apply to the next indoor event.
For those who remember my teammate challenge I did years ago with Bornhorst, I’m going to reinstate it this year with my new teammate Phi. Lots of intriguing story lines for this one so drop any fun ideas in the comments below. I.e. Kyosho teammate challenge Young vs. Old, kid vs. gramps, talls vs. smalls. 😆 best one or favorite one in the comments is what we will use this year. How it works is one point for each finishing position in classes we both raced at same event. So far Phi has the lead on me with 15 points to my 21. Going to be a fun year trying to catch this Phenom! 😁
