This past week I attended the ROAR Fuel Off-Road Nationals at A-Main Hobbies Silver Dollar RC Raceway.

I had some good runs in qualifying Thursday and Friday and ended up TQ in both Nitro Buggy and Nitro Truggy.

Sunday was main day and it was hot! We made some adjustments to the diff and shock oils for the warmup and it was the right direction. First up was the 45 minute Truggy main. I got out to a good start and battled with Spencer Rivkin at the beginning of the race. After I settled in I got out to a pretty good gap back to second. Had an issue with my motor mount and held on until the last minute but had to settle for 3rd. Congrats to Ryan Maifield on his win.

Last up was the Nitro Buggy 60 minute final. Since I TQ’d I went straight to the main and didn’t race the Semis, but took advantage of both practice sessions. After what happened in Truggy I was more determined than ever to defend my title. My TLR 8ight X 2.0, Ultimate Engine with Nitrolux fuel, and Jconcepts tires were all performing flawlessly! I put my head down and ran a really clean race to take the win.

Thanks to the A-main crew for a great facility and layout for the event. Would also like to thank Barry Baker, Thomas Tran, Ryan Dunford, and Mike Sontag for all their help. The Jconcepts crew of Jason, Paul, and Hannah were there with great support as always. Next race is the Visions Race by Live RC in Oklahoma.
