Silver State is one of my favorite races of the year to attend

Silver State is one of my favorite races of the year to attend. I always know going into this event that it will be a challenge that I look forward too.  This year was the most stacked Silver State event that I have attended and  that made this one so rewarding to do well at.

Thursday was qualifying day for E-Buggy and Nitro Truggy and it went pretty well. I was able to TQ one round of E-Buggy and grab a 3 for a round which put me 3rd overall for the Mains on Saturday. In Nitro Truggy, I had 2 6th places that would put me P7 on the grid for the mains.

Friday would be one of my most up and down days I have had. I was fortunate to TQ two rounds of E-Truggy and take the overall TQ in the Main event.  Nitro Buggy was brutal for me. I had great speed but never got a clean run in.  I ended up P26 and knew it was going to be a struggle to make the A main. I was definitely disappointed.

Saturday was another day and I was pretty excited to start fresh after yesterdays runs. I had a great race in E-Buggy and had some great battles with Rivken and Phend.  We battled to the end and I would finish 3rd.  I was happy with that as we were all making mistakes and it came down to who made the fewest mistakes. Phend would take the win.

In Nitro-Truggy I felt pretty confident and felt good but on the first lap coming down the hill before the whoops I would hit a hole and flip over and everyone went by. I would dig my way back but it was so hard to pass and by the time I caught back up to where I started the leaders were gone. I would settle for P5, congratulations to Ryan Maifeild on his win with a flawless run.

Sunday was the big day at Silver State and I was hopeful but knew I had a challenge ahead of me. I had my Dad make quite a few changes to my car just to make it easier to drive knowing I would have to charge for 20 minutes in the Nitro Buggy B main. This race was stacked with some of the best talent in the world. I would put my head down and run good enough to finish 2nd after 20 minutes, grabbing the bump spot and punching my ticket to the big show.

I then had the E Truggy A main where I was feeling pretty good after bumping up in Nitro Buggy.  I had a good battle with Rivken but I led wire to wire and took the win in E-Truggy with my Trinity powered HB E8T EVO3.

Going into Nitro Buggy I had some confidence with my bump and win earlier. I knew I had speed but would need some luck to get through traffic starting 16th. I had some good luck getting through traffic and made it to the top 5 but found my self battling with Phend and Lutz so I could not really just charge. Phi Long and Marco Baruffolo checked out early and ran flawless so I really had little chance to catch them. I was proud and honored to finish on the podium with them. Also, congratulations to Kaden for making it straight into his first Silver State A main. I will definitely work on my qualifying for Nationals and try to not make my job so hard in a few weeks. Cheers to Marco my Reds Racing teammate on the win! See everyone in a few weeks at ROAR  Fuel Nationals.
