The 2023 Dirt Nitro Challenge has concluded and it was a gnarly one. Prepping 2 seperate tracks, the crew did everything they could to keep the event alive through the constant rainfall. So hats off to them!

The results were up and down. We had great speed on the big track, with top 10 runs for each of the classes. I felt confident going into qualifying. Unfortunately, the qualifying effort was unacceptable. We seeded in all 3 E mains. I didn’t drive like myself out there, and I struggled to get comfortable on the new tight layout.

Mains went well. I talked with the team and made some key changes. I was able to bump up from E-D-C mains in both nitro buggy and nitro truck. Ebuggy I would only bump once and end in the D main. I felt I had great pace in both nitro C mains. The equipment was on point and I was finally driving well. A few costly mistakes kept me from bumping into the Bs.

We live and we learn, it’s the weeks like this that make the successful weekends that much sweeter. I have a quick turnaround for Desert Classic this week where I will reset and focus on a strong result.
