We saved the best for last. House of RC is so many thing to so many different people. It’s impossible to build one experience that fits all people, everyone has their own things they care about and prioritize. Introducing the completely new functionality to control your own experience of House of RC as well as design your own profile and brand. For that we’re now letting everyone, also free accounts, to customise the homepage that we now call “The workbench”. Just as a regular workbench you can decide what tools you want to work with and how to organise them. We’ve made a default setup depending on the type of user you register as. Beginners get the “RC in my area” page, racers and professionals get more event, results and reports and everyone else gets a little bit of everything. But you can choose exactly which panels you want to see and in what order. But not only that, you can also decide if you want the bright new interface or a darker cooler look, we call it Salt and Pepper. You can even mix and match, having a light page with a dark header. If you’re an insider you can even upload and pick your own background to fully make the workbench yours!

This is great for getting the best experience out of House of RC for you, but many of you also want to show of your own profile to the world. Your RC projects, your results, your posts and all the other things. As an exclusive feature for insiders only you can now design your own profile page, just like the homepage you can decide background, layout, panels and even a color scheme. This goes for companies, clubs and other organizations as well to really build and control your brand to stand out from the rest. You can even design resources, meaning using the Page resource type you can use this to build whole websites with subsections and other pages and include a navigation component to make it easily navigateable. This way there is no reason for you to host and pay expensive development costs to run your own website. The Viking, David Ronnefalk, already uses House of RC for organising his events at his venue on House of RC. He has registered a domain name and pointed that to his page on House of RC instead of building something from scratch and it maintains itself as it’s data driven from events, signups and results as well as user generated content as race reports, setups used at the events. We have also improved the filters used around all index pages to stick thru your session. Choosing country, scale, class, etc now moves between all pages so you only see the information that you’re interested in. Set up your interests in your profile to get a good starting point for the filters. We will be adding even more smart ways for the platform to adjust to your likings.

As a little bonus we added a new Resource type for creating lists. We see this as a very crucial and flexible type that can be used n many different way. First off to just create list of items. It could be your bucket race list, where each item point to something in the system and draws data from that. It could be a table of content for a build project with many separate pages. It can be used as described above as a navigational component for building more complex websites. This last piece is also for insiders only, while everyone can use the base list component. In the future we plan to add checklist functionality so it can be used other ways as well.

We hope and think these new features for personalisation, customisation and the new list resource type will be really appreciated and used. We can’t wait to see how people design their own custom workbenches and profile pages or clubs and brands to build their digital home on House of RC.
