ISTC Worlds done and dusted!

ISTC Worlds done and dusted! This was the first time for me going to a World Championship in this class. Also the first time driving on asphalt at a big race like this in many many years😃

It all started out pretty good with 2x 13th in Q1 and Q2, but after I wasn’t really able to put clean runs together. I tried to find the right balance in the car on the low grip and ever changing conditions. I felt good in Q5 and Q6 but mistakes cost me a decent starting spot in the B main, instead I got bumped out of it and ended up first in C main 😅

Obviously not at all what I was looking for and as I also had some decent speed in qualies it really sucked to miss the B, I was looking forward to racing the guys in it hehe!

Oh well, I won the C main (21st overall) and it was a wild experience at my first WC in this class. Weather played a big role unfortunately making things very unsure. I was prepared to run in the rain but in the end they decided to push the schedule forward instead.

There were lots of discussions about rules (which are old), decisions made by IFMAR throughout the week and really just everything going on. I went there to enjoy and to learn and gain experience. I did learn things and got some experience for the future but with everything going on I must say it didn’t really make it an enjoyable event..

I had some good times with friends on and off the track however! 🙏

Congratulations to Bruno on his win! 👏🏻

Now it’s time for two weeks of vacation here in Italy, so I will be back after that with the last round of RCGP in USA✌🏼
